Anyways! While I was checking out, I did a quick Google search for any current online coupon codes, and came up with this one:
olmar11
It's valid for $5 off your purchase until April 30, 2011. And while $5 isn't a HUGE discount, for the amount my purchase was ($31-something with GST and free shipping), it was useful.
So! If you shop on chapters.indigo.ca at all, use this coupon! It'll save you the cost of buying a latte from Starbucks.
Plus, if you combine it with your iRewards discount and buy enough books to qualify for free shipping (really not that difficult since it's purchases of $25 or more that qualify... that's two or three books!), you're saving a decent amount of scratch cash.
Rory bought me my iRewards card in August, I think it was $20 or $25 for the card, and it's paid for itself at least twice over already!
Although at this rate, I'll be buying a new bookcase next month! I'm thinking of getting a floor-set type unit from IKEA that I can put under the window in the living room, rather than the 7-foot tall monster I had wanted originally. Partially because I don't want to have to secure the stupid thing to the wall.
Something like this bookcase... it's finished on all four sides so I can turn it on its side:
Expedit bookcase from IKEA, $79.99 |
post-post edit: I just used the coupon a second time and bought two Margaret Atwood books... Oryx and Crake and The Year of the Flood. I don't think Rory will ever understand my love for books.
Oh well. I have excellent taste, so if he wants to he can grab pretty much anything off my bookshelves and he'll like it. Maybe with the exception of Twilight and any of my Sarah Dessen books. And the Shopaholic books.
I'm allowed my chick-lit, it's a nice break from futuristic science fictiony stuff when I'm tired or sick and can't focus as well. All things considered, though, there's not a lot of that (generalized) genre in my personal library.
As long as I get the books out of the mailbox before he gets home, I'll be fine. Hehe.

dude, nice. thanks, i get stuff off there all the time since you don't need a credit card. although they cancel your orders if its not in their stock by 5 weeks or something, lol. :)
LOL, Josh, how were you logged in on someone else's account?? Nicely done.
And yeah, I never use a credit card online, Interac Online all the way.
I've never had to have them order something in for me though, what I want is pretty much always in-- the only time they've ordered anything, it's been in-store.
And it's faster for me to buy it online, anyways!!
