Science Fiction
- Orson Scott Card's Ender series. Lovelovelove. I've honestly gone through about 4 copies of Ender's Game itself, because I don't treat my paperbacks all that well (oopsie) and they die on me when they're read and loved.
- Orson Scott Card's Homecoming series. I got the full series (in hardcover!) from Grandpa Card when I was a teenager.

- Frank Herbert's Dune series. The last couple books are harder for me to read because they seem so far-removed from the first three. I still think of Paul Atreides as the Lisan al-Gaib.
- Scott Westerfield's Uglies, Pretties, Specials and Extras.
- George Orwell's 1984
Fantasy
- O. R. Melling's The Chronicles of Faerie series. Fantastic look into Irish mythology.
- Kristin Cashore's Graceling. I've also heard great things about Fire, but haven't yet bought a copy of it.

Other Fiction
- Sarah Dessen's The Truth About Forever, Keeping the Moon, Lock and Key, etc etc etc. I love her books, they're not a brain-twisting read and they're good for a feel-good read.
- Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper. The movie was a failure in comparison (although I do love Cameron Diaz and Abigail Breslin), but the book had me BAWLING at the end.
- Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones
