Wishlist.

Okay, so I'm starting to get the hang of the whole "fashion wants" thing. Somewhat. But I'm still going to go for comfort over haute-couture'ishness.

For example, the Maxi Skirt from Shock Boutique:
Shock Boutique's Maxi Skirt in Black, $30
$30.00 US, and it fits my criteria for a perfect weekend-wear skirt. Long (so I don't feel obligated to shave my legs, hahahaha...ew...), black (because nearly everything I own is black or some shade of grey), and it looks comfortable as heck. With NO ELASTIC WAISTBAND.

Seriously, anyone who thinks that actual pants or skirts should have an elastic waistband is out of their ever-loving mind. Leggings, yes. That makes sense, if it's the right type (read: not gathered at ALL, broad enough that it stays up properly and not tight enough to leave marks or create an awkward paunch) and is in wearable condition/fits properly.

And some specific types of skirts. Like the peasant-style layered skirt. But really, who wears those anymore?

The only disadvantage of this specific skirt for me would be the fact that I'm all of 5'0" (maaaybe 5'1" but 5'0" sounds better and I like being teeny) tall, and it would be guaranteed to drag on the floor like nothing else. I could always get it hemmed, though.

Another wardrobe-essential want is a good pair of black leggings. I'm considering buying a pair of American Apparel's Winter Leggings in black with my Christmas money... or with my next paycheque...
American Apparel's Winter Legging in black, $44

The only turn-off that I can find about these so far is the fact that they're $44. I'll go check them out in-store first, because if they're worth the monetary investment then they will be the most expensive pair of leggings I will have bought to date.

The thing with leggings, though, is that they're a completely crucial piece of clothing for me. Mostly because I'm an uber-wimp about the cold and layer leggings under my pants almost all the time.

Plus, they have the same magical effect on my derriere that well-constructed yoga pants do, hehehe.

But, y'know, if we're really going to do some serious online shopping... no shopping trip is complete without a good book or two.

I'm not buying any more new books until after Christmas (because you never know what books people will stick under the tree for me... or how many gift cards people will give me because they're completely lost for gift ideas...). But I had a copy of Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake about five years ago and lost it. Bah!

So, I want to replace it. On the Chapters/Indigo website, it's only $10.79 for the trade paperback edition (for irewards members, of which I am definitely one... seriously, $25 for the membership card for the year? The card saved me DOUBLE that amount in the first two months I had it! Thanks for the card, Rory. Hehe)

Yup, never a complete shopping trip without a good book to read on the way home.

=)
