Say Yes to the Dress...

Hello, show for me to watch when Rory is nowhere near me! Like right now, it's nearly 1:00pm on a Sunday and he's still in bed.

And I'm sitting on the couch, watching Say Yes to the Dress and looking at dresses online... poor guy. He has no idea what he's gotten himself into.

Just for the record, I love doing this. No, we're not engaged yet. But I'm one of those girls who has no intentions of paying more than, say... $600 for a dress? I found one that I absolutely love on Etsy, and I've messaged the seller to ask how much it would cost to have it custom-made to fit my little-bitty frame.

The thought that so many women pay thousands and thousands of dollars for a dress (I just saw someone pay $11,500 US for a dress) absolutely floors me. You're going to wear it for one day! (Well, maybe two if you do any photoshoots after your wedding day...). Then again, these are people who spend $50,000 on a wedding.

And since there's about a 90% chance that we'll be paying for our (eventual) wedding ourselves, there's no way whatsoever I'll pay that much money. Hello, DIY-wedding.

Now, I realize that most of my readers (including my parents, who creep my blog-- I know you read it, just click the "follow" button so you can get updates automatically!!) are probably bored to death by this, so I'm going to put the rest of this post behind a jump. Clickity clickity.
