sunshine, the open... lake... and a lack of sunscreen.

So we went sailing with my Grandpa Charlie yesterday. AWESOME. I haven't been sailing in years, but I haven't forgotten a thing! =]

I also managed to rig up the sails without falling off the bowsprit. I feel *so* good about that.

Rory also enjoyed himself, which makes me super happy. He might not come with the next time, but I'm glad he had fun.

The downside of this is that Rory is wicked sunburnt... he looks like a red and white raccoon, poor guy. And I have heat rash on my shoulders, and a bit of a burn on my neck.

So the aloe vera gel (with Lidocaine in it!) that I bought to day is in the freezer, chilling. I also smartened up and bought SPF 60 sunscreen. And discovered that they actually sell SPF 85. I'm definitely buying that before Folk Fest and our trip to Shuswap.


Different note: we took Shadow to his new home today. Gave him to my friend Courtney, who already owns three hedgies (and has a cage for one more)... she's awesome and loves hogs and will take much better care of him than we did. He deserves it. I feel good because he's not in a shelter (that would have made me feel like the worst person in the world), and he's with someone who will love him the way he should be =]
