A Healthy Goal.

If you're one of those people I know in real life, you might know that I have a tendency to snack on... well, pretty much straight junk-foods. Believe me, I know how very unhealthy it is.

Since moving in with Rory, my eating habits haven't improved much... But a couple days ago, I kinda snapped. I'm tired of feeling sluggish and slow, of not having the muscle tone that I did in high school when I was in dance classes and curling.

And moreover, I'm tired of feeling self-conscious about the way I look. I know that I'm still fairly petite and don't have a lot to complain about, but there are still things that I'm self-conscious about and want to change.

When Rory and I were at the grocery store a couple days ago, I decided that it's time to make a few changes. Healthier food is (usually) cheaper, and easier to prepare. And there are so many possibilities, too!

So I bought myself a box of nut-free granola that has hemp seeds in it. It's actually quite yummy. We've been putting a handful of it into our cereal every morning, and it's a nice addition. Plus... Mini Wheats, you can't go wrong there.

I also want to see if I can find an elliptical on kijiji for (relatively) cheap. That might have to wait until we've moved, though, so for now I plan on going for walks / jogs as often as my schedule (and my need to not have my lungs collapse) allows. Maybe I'll get a gym membership in September, too?

Plus, I have a yoga mat at home, and a couple weights.

So here's to hoping I can stay committed to this... With Rory helping me stay motivated, it should be good =)

I always forget that you were a curler! You should get back into it =). Did you ever do like Junior/Juvenile playdowns or not so much?
Good luck with your goals however! I'm definitely trying to do the same!

I only really played through school, haha. And my parents were both ice technicians when I was little, so up until junior high I would hang out at the rink and throw rocks on empty sheets when everyone else was paying for their ice time ;)
