The busiest week of this month

And quite possibly the busiest week of the year... for me, anyways.

So today is Father's Day. Awesomesauce. It's also one of the hottest days so far... and we only discovered this about an hour and a half ago when we dragged ourselves out of the house to go to Superstore for laundry detergent, kleenex and ice cream.

We made our way to Superstore in the sweltering heat, beckoned into the comfort of the air-conditioned store... and got sucked in by a TON of impulse buys. Like a 100-box of little bitty freezies. And the Jamaican cream soda that I love (which Rory thinks tastes like soap, but he got pineapple soda and guava juice instead)... And Nesquik syrup (2 different kinds, including a HUGE bottle of the classic stuff and a small bottle of the cappuccino one, yummm)... and instant coffee.

So, yeah, we left home with a list of about 6 things to buy (which would've cost us about $35)... and left the grocery store with $65 in non-groceries.

I still haven't quite gotten the hang of the whole "being an adult" thing yet, can you tell? That being said, when we go to Costco for groceries we're usually pretty good.

Back to the Father's Day thing, though... you might be wondering why I chose a picture of Charlie Brown and Snoopy for today. Well, my dad absolutely LOVES the Peanuts comic... he has several ties, etcetera. So earlier this week when I was looking for a gift for my dad, I went to the Hallmark store in Southgate and found him a Snoopy mug and a Joe Cool plushie-- AND a Snoopy card, too! =) I just hope he doesn't give the plushie to the dog, haha.

As far as I know, we'll be going over there this evening.

BY THE WAY: Today is *officially* my last day of being a teenager! That's right, I turn 20 tomorrow ^_^" And then Rory's 20th is on Thursday... but I have no idea whatsoever to get him. I originally bought him a Philips rotary electric shaver, and had him try it out... but it didn't work very well and it gave him razor burn, so we returned it.

Now I'm completely stuck.

*sigh*

Oh well, on the bright side of life... Cecilia is coming out in a week! She's coming to spend about 5 or 6 days with us, hang out and see Edmonton, all that jazz. =)

Hopefully this busy-as-hell week goes smoothly. Goodness only knows I have a ton of cleaning to do before Cee gets here.

Peanuts is awesome, but I'm more a Calvin & Hobbes kind of guy.
