I think I'm finally starting to feel like my old self again. And not so much like my old self, but a... well, a much more whole version of myself. So it'd be the awesome things I've learned and done in the past couple years, combined with what made me feel the most real and true to form in high school.
My first hint of this was the amount of book-shopping I did on Saturday. I went to Greenwoods with David after I was done at the bank, and spent $100 on books. All in gift certificates... I've been hoarding them for about a year and half now and it was TOTALLY worth it. I re-bought The Chronicles of Faerie, it's been one of my favorite series for years but I somehow (sadly) lost my copy a couple years back. When I saw it sitting on the shelf, I couldn't resist. I'm glad I did :)
All told, I think I bought ten books? I got Dave a copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance... and a Calvin and Hobbes compilation for Rory, haha.
The second hint was the fact that I've started painting my nails again. Stop laughing at me, it's true! Okay, so I don't have much imagination and they're just plain black right now. I have a bright teal, but it somehow looks even more weird at work than the black does.
I've been hanging out with my friends again instead of being the lamefaced loner who spends all her free time at home, sitting on the computer... it's kinda nice =]
Another awesome thing: We're leaving for BC next Saturday! Staying overnight in Jasper, then driving out to Shuswap. I have the day before we leave off, so I'll be able to take care of the last-minute details... and hopefully completely clean the house before we leave. Because it'd be nice to come home to a clean house.
Frustrating moment: Remember how excited I was about having bought Folk Fest passes for both myself and Rory? Well, it turns out that he has to work all day Saturday. And then after work, he's leaving for his parents' place in Busby because they're driving up north for his grandpa's 75th birthday party the next day.
Needless to say, I'm kinda sad about it. He's missing almost the entire weekend, and I was really looking forward to it. Not that I'd try to stop him from spending time with his family... but this was his birthday present and now it's being wasted. Blah.
Oh well... there's always next year, right?
