the tea addict lives!

Okay, so we were at my parents' place last night for dinner... my grandparents were there as well. And I got to see my sister again, it was awesome.

I picked up my mail, hooray for a $95 GST rebate cheque.

Gave my sister a ride to a dance on the way home... Rory really loves to show off the sound system in the Sunfire... but I don't blame him, actually. He hooked up the speakers to an amplifier a couple days ago and it sounds AMAZING. So he stunned a few of the kids standing in front of the building. We both got a giggle out of it.

We've been housesitting for Jen (my old roomie) all week, and staying at her place at her request, so we went back there to change afterwards and then headed out to Castrol Raceway to watch the Friday night street legals. It'd been raining previously and we weren't sure whether or not they'd happen, but I'm glad they did. Watching the drag races on the quarter mile strip was actually really cool :) We also met up with Devon and Nick, and hung out with them.

On the way back into town, I dozed off in the car. We were driving behind Nick when he slammed on the brakes really suddenly (to avoid hitting a road construction cone or something?) and Rory had to hit the brakes really suddenly as well, or else hit his Charger. It jolted me awake and scared the living daylights out of me.

Made our way back home and cuddled up, managed somehow to get up almost on time this morning.

So I spent today hopping all over the city. Started off at City Center to deposit my GST cheque and say hi to Tracy who works at the City Center store. I made my way to WEM after that, my main goal being to use my GST cheque to buy some of the teas I've been eying up for ages. I walked out of DAVIDsTEA with six different teas... which probably brings my current collection up to 12 different types?

Worth it, though. Most of what I got was the spring/summer collections, so they aren't part of the permanent assortment. What I Got:

- Orchid Oolong
- Pure Chai
- Spring Break
- Three Lemon Green
- Green & Fruity
- Organic Raspberry Nectar

... the chai is SO GOOD. I got the Green & Fruity because it smells like peaches and tastes like peach juice... that one is for Rory because I know how much he likes fuzzy peaches. Spring Break is a light green tea with coconut, so delicious. I haven't had any of the others yet, but I definitely will at some point.

The other teas I have:
- White Malibu
- Pink (organic)
- Irish Cream
- Cherry Blossom (almost out of this, I should get more before it's no longer available but I'm not *HUGE* on it so I probably won't)
- Chamomile
- Peppermint
- Lavender Zen (which is lavender + gunpowder green... the lavender knocks me right out! So delicious!)
- Sencha green

... and a few teas from Tea Desire before their Southgate location closed.

Okay, yes, I'm a complete tea addict. I need to exercise restraint and finish a bunch of what I have at home before I buy any more.

Anyways! I left WEM and made my way to Southgate, where I met up with Jess. We went down to Whyte Ave because she needed shorter posts for her venoms, and got back to the van to discover that, not only had she locked her keys in the van, but the van was STILL RUNNING. So she called her dad, and we ended up waiting an hour for him to get there with his spare key to open it for us. Poor Jess, she was already running late.

Once that entire fiasco was taken care of, we went to Kingsway to see our dearest Lexci Million... Jess got her eyebrow pierced (it looks super cute!), and I had my tragus done.

Rory met us there, and we got food and went home.

... Today has been pretty eventful. Best Saturday I've had in a while, haha.

P.S: Yes, I do feel faintly ridiculous for spending most of a blog post chattering about tea. I'm a nut, yes.

Oh, and I bought a little mesh sealing ball thingy so I can bring tea with me to work, too =]
