Craftaholic.

I went on a small dollar-store spree today. Went in only intending to get some jars to put granola, pumpkin seeds, etc in... And came out with a couple small canvases, brushes, paints, a calligraphy "pen" (marker) and a gold paint marker... And these two black printed fabrics stretched on a wood base, in ADDITION to the four black ceramic jars I bought.

Oops?

My old roommate Jen has some canvas prints in her house that she painted herself. They look really neat, and I figured that I may as well give it a shot. What's the worst that could happen, I make it look awful and waste a $1.25 "canvas"? Not a big deal.

I'm looking forward to decorating. I even have a couple picture frames sitting at home... I should see if I can dig up some photos to stick in them.

Part of me wishes that we could paint our place. At least paint the walls white. There's a wall in our living room that has wood paneling on it, it's quite dark and depressing. Especially since we live underground. Come to think, I haven't asked our landlords if we're allowed to. Maybe I should, if it turns out that we're going to be living there until late fall / early winter? Jeremy and Jessica are pretty chill, I *think* they'd be okay with it. And if I ask and they say no, it's not a big deal.

On that note, we do need to start looking for a new place. Ideally, we could just make a downpayment on a house... But we're not really ready for that, I think-- both in the financial aspect, and the emotional one.

But dang, it'd be nice to have total creative control over how my walls look.

Oh well. Until then, I'll appreciate my night of painting.
