This past week...

I kept meaning to write another post or two, but real life (read: books and tea and sleep and video games) kept distracting me.

Rory's Memère (the grandmother he had gone up north to visit) died the night that he got home. I'm *really* glad he had a chance to go up there and see her before she died. When my Supergramp (great-grandpa Patching) was sick and dying in the hospital, I was in 11th grade. I remember having a complete breakdown one morning in the cafeteria before school because I was so upset that I didn't know whether I would be able to see him. One of my friends from Performing Arts, Aaron, insisted on me skipping school and walking up to the hospital to see him. I'm so glad he did that.

Anyways... Memère's funeral is on Monday, so we're driving out to Barrhead tomorrow and then driving up with his parents and Grandmaman. We'll be getting back Monday night.

Apart from that, this week has been insanely hectic. Our Regional Manager was in town from Dallas, so for about four days (most of the time my manager was supposedly "on holidays", even though he came to the store every day -- he needs to learn how to actually take time off!), we were scrambling around, fine-tuning the store and making sure it looked absolutely spot-on.

I'm so ridiculously tired right now. I even slept in until 2:30 this afternoon... I really should be cleaning / doing laundry, but I lack all motivation at the moment.

Actually, correction. I just did a laundry rotation, so my dad hasn't quite been a total waste.

I've discovered a new (healthy) addiction... loose-leaf tea. It started about a month ago when I bought an infuser and loose chamomile and loose peppermint tea... since then, I've added 6 new teas to my collection. Right now, I'm brewing a cup of chamomile because I've been feeling headachey and nauseated today (late nights screw me right up). And it's so cheap to buy loose tea! 50g will make more than 20 cups of tea, and depending on what you buy, it costs anywhere from $5 to $8.50 for 50g... oftentimes, way less!

Nom nom nom nom nom. Plus, if I've had a few cups of tea, I'm more full (and less likely to pig out on junk food when I'm bored, lol). Wins all around!

I'm going to buy myself a glass teapot in a couple weeks. Maybe a couple more teacups right now, too... I love the look of tea brewing, it's quite pretty.

Yes, you are allowed to call me a nerd / weirdo for this fixation.

Think of it this way, though... there are way worse addictions people have!!
